Recipe - written with biro, stained with butter.

Let me say first that I am more interested in methods and conversations than recipes themselves... I hardly ever use a recipe, and when I do, they look rather like the one above. (My Grandmother's.)

Sometimes, however, I want to share a recipe, or play around with a traditional method for making food, such as bread, or cheese and then I try to follow a recipe exactly, since I'm not sure yet of the science of it, or how it is supposed to feel. Because I love (yes, love) cooking and preparing food... This will be a place where I'll share ideas and methods, food stories and notes about how to do things.
